Summer Reading Challenge for Children
The library’s summer reading program runs from May 25th to September 1st, and we have something for everyone! Here you will find out how to participate in our online program or how to log your reading on paper. Read and earn prizes each week! We also have a variety of fun programs and activities to offer kids of all ages.

Library Luminaries: Grades 1st through 5th
Kids entering 1st through 5th grade in September 2025 can enroll in the library’s Library Luminaries summer reading challenge.
This summer, we’re challenging YOU to read 1,000 minutes in 100 days—are you up for it?
Every time you read, set a timer and log your minutes toward your epic goal. For every 100 minutes you read, stop by the library to claim a raffle ticket—you can earn up to 10 entries by reading and completing fun online activities!
Turn in your reading log regularly at the library and you’ll also be entered into weekly raffles for even more chances to win cool prizes!

Choose to track your summer reading online or on paper!
Track your reading online through a website called Engaged Patrons. If you prefer paper, just download the pdf of our paper log and print at home or pick one up at the library. Register on May 25th or later, track your reading, and visit the library to claim your raffle tickets!
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a program designed to help parents prepare their children for one of life’s big milestones: Kindergarten. Research has shown that children get ready to read long before they enter school. An excellent way to get your child ready to learn is to read to them.
Register for 1000 Books and complete the summer read to me activities to earn a Treasure Chest Prize.
