Summer Reading Club:  Imagine Your Story

Magical Mexican Food
Inspired by Like Water for Chocolate

Drawing inspiration from this year’s Summer Reading theme, we’ll turn to a book of magical realism to create our dishes. Like Water for Chocolate, by Laura Esquivel was described by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “tall-tale, fairy-tale, soap opera romance, Mexican cookbook, and home-remedy handbook all rolled into one.” Read the book for recipe ideas, or just submit a favorite Mexican recipe to share with the group.

Please send a copy your recipe by 5:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2020: Recipes will be published on our website the following week.

JUNE 2020
Barbecue Favorites:  Celebrate Dads & Grads

This month’s theme is food to bring to a barbecue. This could be something to grill, a favorite salad or dip, or a delectable dessert. The month of June is the time to celebrate Dads and new graduates, so we hope you’ll add some of these recipes to the festivities (celebrating from a safe distance, of course!).
