Cookbook Club

Good books, good food & good company!  Every month we’ll work with a different theme.  Bring a dish to share & discuss!

*While the Library building is closed, cookbooks are still available for checkout from Hoopla (give it a try!) .  Send a copy of the recipe that you’d like to share to:  info@veronalibrary.org

September:  Back-to-School Weeknight Recipes

The Cookbook Club is resuming for fall! While we still can’t meet in person, we can continue to share favorite recipes. For something new, we’re going to try a blog where recipes will be posted and you can leave your comments (or add any tips/advice). Feel free to send pictures as well!

As kids head back to school, we’d like some favorite recipes for a family, weeknight meal (think one-pot dishes). Please email your recipe by Friday, Sept. 25, 2020: info@veronalibrary.org

Recipes will be posted on our website/blog by the end of the following week. We hope you’ll contribute!

Summer Reading Club:  Imagine Your Story

Magical Mexican Food Inspired by Like Water for Chocolate

Drawing inspiration from this year’s Summer Reading theme, we’ll turn to a book of magical realism to create our dishes. Like Water for Chocolate, by Laura Esquivel was described by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “tall-tale, fairy-tale, soap opera romance, Mexican cookbook, and home-remedy handbook all rolled into one.”

JUNE 2020
Barbecue Favorites:  Celebrate Dads & Grads

This month’s theme is food to bring to a barbecue. This could be something to grill, a favorite salad or dip, or a delectable dessert. The month of June is the time to celebrate Dads and new graduates, so we hope you’ll add some of these recipes to the festivities (celebrating from a safe distance, of course!).
