When a loved one is diagnosed with a mental health disorder, the entire family is affected. This workshop explores the unique experience of each family role, and offers helpful coping strategies. Presented by the IFSS team, Marvin Gorsky, LCSW, Renee Folzenlogen, LPC, and Emily Zelner, LCSW from the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc. Intensive Family Support Services (IFSS), provides free, supportive counseling to family members of individuals diagnosed with mental illness.

Hilda Jaffe, former president of the Verona Board of Ed., will recall the 1968-69 experiment of busing students from Newark to Verona. This innovative project of integration (following soon after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), caused tension and division in our community. 50 years later, Ms. Jaffe will reflect on this moment in Verona’s history.
