First Word on Horror Film Series

Verona Public Library is pleased to present First Word on Horror, a three-part documentary series featuring best-selling horror writers.  The series offers a glimpse into the authors’ lives, the secrets behind their writing process, and the fears that make them human.  Presented by producer Will Battersby.

Featured authors are:

  • Stephen Graham Jones, a Blackfeet writer currently on the NYTimes bestseller list for his novel The Buffalo Hunter Hunter
  • Paul Tremblay, who was on the NYTimes bestseller list last year with his novel Horror Movie
  • Mariana Enriquez, Argentinian author whose last novel Our Share of Night was also on the NYTimes Bestseller list.

Here’s what critics are saying:

  • “A must for horror fans and aspiring writers. These are nightmare-fuel bedtime stories” – The Alliance of Women Film Journalists
  • “The series is a love letter to writers of all ilk, to the primacy of the human experience, and to the simple act of reading a damned good story.” – Adi Tantimedh
  • “Don’t miss the opportunity to dive into First Word on Horror, a series poised to redefine how we engage with the narratives that haunt and inspire us.” – Following Films
