Step back in time and discover the incredible true story of Mary Anning, a pioneering fossil hunter whose discoveries changed the way we understand prehistoric life. In the early 1800s along England’s Jurassic Coast, Mary uncovered some of the first complete skeletons of ancient sea creatures like the ichthyosaur and plesiosaur—laying the groundwork for modern paleontology.

Presented by Carol Simon Levine, this engaging, hands-on family program brings Mary’s story to life while exploring the challenges she faced as a woman in science. Participants will have the chance to interact, learn, and experience the excitement of fossil discovery together—perfect for curious minds of all ages! Ages 5 and up.

Children through 4th grade must have a responsible adult caregiver inside the library at all times.
