Book Review: Fable for the End of the World

Fable for the End of the World by Ava Reid follows two girls, Inesa and Melinoë. Inesa works at a taxidermy shop and her family is struggling to stay out of debt in a dystopian world where flooding is the norm. Her mother decides to get out of their debt, she would sacrifice Inesa to be in a livestream run by the government where a genetically altered cyborg hunts and assassinates its prey, who are called Angels. Melinoë, who is one of the Angels, is tasked with killing Inesa, despite her struggles of facing her harsh daily life of murdering individuals. As the story goes on, Inesa and Melinoë realize they are not so different from each other. They want to survive, and want to live peaceful lives.

Ava Reid definitely deserves praise for her novel. I loved the way the characters, surroundings, and story was written. Reid lets readers experience new view points throughout Fable for the End of the World. I highly recommend this novel to anybody who likes dystopian books.
